Which is the best Kalimba to buy?
We have a variety of Kalimbas available. All our Kalimbas are suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners with no musical experience, to advanced musicians.

We normally recommend one of our 17 key Kalimbas as they have the best range of sound, are great for beginners and also make excellent gifts. Another pro is the availability of written Kalimba tablature and instructional resources that you can find online are most often for the 17 key variety of Kalimba.

How do you play a Kalimba?
You simply hold your Kalimba with both hands and pluck the keys with your thumbs.

How do you tune a Kalimba?
Very easily! By using the tuning hammer included with every Kalimba you can lower the pitch by lengthening the keys, or increase the pitch by shortening the keys.

Where can I find Kalimba songs to learn?
Kalimba music, called tablature (or ‘tabs’ for short), is widely available across the internet for free with a simple google search. We are currently working on building a Kalimba Tabs library for our website, so stay tuned for that!

How do I read Kalimba music?
Kalimba sheet music is called tablature (or ‘tabs’ for short) and is, by its essence, a diagram of the intrument itself. You just follow the notes in order.

About Us

Who is Kalimba Dream?
We are a couple of musically illiterate people who discovered the Kalimba and fell in love. We can now share our passion online through our website.

Where are you located?
We are located in sunny Queensland in Australia.

How long have you been playing the Kalimba?
We first discovered the Kalimba at a farmer’s market circa 2014 and have been playing ever since.

Do you have a physical store that I can visit?
At the moment we are only operating online. However, one day we hope to open our very own Kalimba and small intrument gift shop.

How many Kalimbas do you currently have?
I think we’ve lost count! It’s become quite a collection. They are so inexpensive that it’s just too tempting to say no when we find a new interesting and uniquely designed Kalimba.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal for online orders.

Is it safe to purchase from your store?
Kalimba Dream uses Stripe and Paypal as our payment processors. They protect your information by using advanced encryption and firewall technology throughout the ordering process.

To further ensure your security, our website uses state of the art SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect your personal information from unauthorised use. This can be verified by the small lock icon in the address bar or status bar of your browser.

Do you charge GST or Sales Tax?
All GST and Sales Tax is included in the price you see on each product page. There are NO additional GST or Sales Tax charges added during the checkout process.

Can I customize your Kalimbas?
Sorry, at this point in time our manufacturing processes do not allow customizations. What you see on our site is what is available. We never say never though – customization options may become available in the future.

I have changed my mind. Can I change or cancel my order?
We aim to process your order as quickly as we can, so that you can receive it sooner.

If you need to change or cancel your order you will need to get in touch with us as soon as possible, before we ship your order out. The quickest way to get hold of us is by contacting us here and selecting the “Orders & Billing” option. This will ensure that your message is delivered promptly and to the correct team member.

Please ensure to include your order number and to let us know, in detail, what changes need to be made.

We will then let you know, as quickly as we can, whether or not we have been able to accommodate your change or cancel request.

How can I see my past orders?
If you created an account during the checkout process simply login to your account here to see all of your past orders and account details. 

If you checked out as a guest please use our Order Status page or contact us to request details of any orders you have made with us.

Shipping & Delivery

How much is shipping?
Kalimba Dream has FREE worldwide shipping. No nasty surprises at the checkout! Always free!

Which countries do you ship to?
Kalimba Dream is proud to offer shipping worldwide to over 200 countries. However, occasionally there are some locations we may be unable to ship to for logistical reasons. If you happen to be from one of those countries we will contact you immediately to cancel and refund your order.

How long does shipping take?
Shipping time varies by location. Please refer to our complete Shipping & Delivery guide for a list of countries and expected delivery times.

How will my packages be delivered?
We ship from our warehouses in China by ePacket or EMS, in Australia by Australia Post and in USA by USPS.

ePacket is an international shipping option offered by third-party logistics providers. It allows merchants to provide a fast and affordable international shipping option for light packages, and includes full tracking.

Will my delivery include tracking?
Yes! You will receive an email with a tracking number as soon as your order has been shipped.

In some cases, due to logistical reasons, items in your order may be shipped in separate packages. In this case you will receive multiple tracking numbers.

Will I be charged customs fees on my international order?
Most likely the answer is no. However please note that Kalimba Dream is not responsible for any customs fees you may be charged on the products you have purchased through our website. By purchasing from Kalimba Dream you consent that one or more packages will be shipped to you from an overseas warehouse and may incur customs fees when they arrive in your country.

Returns & Refunds

I have changed my mind. Can I send back my item for a refund?
Sorry, we do not offer “change of mind” returns.

I never received my item. Can I get a refund or replacement?
Our guaranteed delivery time is 45 days (not including an initial 2-5 day processing period). If you have not received your item by this deadline please contact us promptly* so that we can assist you in finding out what has gone wrong.

We will not issue a refund if:

  • Your order does not arrive due to factors within your control (eg. you provided us with the wrong shipping address)
  • Your order does not arrive due to circumstances outside our control (eg. natural disasters, not cleared by customs etc)

* You can submit a refund request through our contact us page for non-delivery within 15 days after the guaranteed time for delivery has expired (45 days, not including initial 2-5 day processing time). After the 15 days has elapsed Kalimba Dream is no longer liable to provide you with a refund on non-delivery.

I received the wrong item. Can I return it?
We are sorry that the wrong item has been delivered to you.

Please contact us so that we can assist you in finding out what has gone wrong and, if necessary, arrange a return, reshipment or refund.

We will not issue a return if:

  • The item you received matches the item you ordered from our website
  • You have changed your mind about the particular item you ordered, or desire the item in a different colour or variation.
  • The item has minor differences, such as colour/s, minor design differences, minor sizing differences etc. While we strive to provide products exactly as we describe and display them, sometimes the wood grain and manufacturing processes can result in small differences beyond our control.

* You can submit a return request through our contact us page for within 15 days of receiving the item. After the 15 days has elapsed Kalimba Dream is no longer liable to provide you with an option to return the item.

My item arrived damaged. Can I get an exchange?
We are sorry to hear that your item has arrived with damage. Kalimba Dream takes great care in ensuring your items are well packaged and will arrive at your door in the condition it left our warehouse in.

Please contact us so that we can assist you in finding out what has gone wrong and, if necessary, arrange a return, reshipment or refund.

We may not issue a return if:

  • The courier or postal service is determined to have caused the damage, in which case we will assist to remediate with the responsible carrier
  • Damage to the item has been caused after it has arrived at the customer’s delivery address

* You can submit a return request through our contact us page for within 15 days of receiving the item. After the 15 days has elapsed Kalimba Dream is no longer liable to provide you with an option to return the damaged item.
