The rustling sound made when using a tremolo chain is very special and a uniquely traditional sound in the Kalimba scene.

Installation

Affix one of the embellishments to the included drawing pin.
Create a small pilot hole on one side of the wooden bridge that holds the keys in place.
Remove the embellishment from the drawing pin and affix it to one of the eye pins.
Using your fingers, or pliers (not included), screw the eye pin into the pilot hole until it is securely attached. Do not over fasten.
Repeat for the other side of the bridge.
Attach the tremolo chain to each side of the Kalimba by looping the chain fasteners onto the installed eye pins.

Is it easy to play the Kalimba?

Absolutely! The Kalimba is one of the easiest instruments to learn and you don’t need any special music skills to start. It’s suitable for all ages and all ability levels.

What accessories are included?

All of our Kalimbas come with an accessories pack including instruction manual, tuning hammer, learning stickers, fabric bag and thumb guards. This is everything you need to get started.

Will my Kalimba come pre-tuned?

Yes, we tune all our Kalimbas before we ship them out to you. It’s very easy to keep in tune and adjust the tuning when necessary. Visit our Tuning page for more information.

Where can I find Kalimba music for free?

There are literally thousands of free Kalimba Tabs (sheet music) available all over the internet. You can google ‘kalimba tabs’ to find some great libraries full of different songs, or even search on YouTube to find interactive tutorials for your favourite songs.

Please note: Before your Kalimba is shipped it is pre-tuned so that it is ready to play straight away. However, sometimes during transport, some of the notes may move slightly out of tune. This means you may have to make some minor adjustments with the included tuning hammer when you received your Kalimba. Please refer to our How to Tune page to follow the simple instructions.
